What changes have GPD XP Plus compared to GPD XP:
1. Processor update. The XP features the MediaTek Helio G95, which is equivalent to the Snapdragon 835. The XP Plus features the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, which is equivalent to the Snapdragon 870.
2. Flash specification and capacity update. XP uses 128GB UFS 2.1, and the read and write speeds are: 700MB/s 140MB/s. XP Plus is upgraded to 256GB UFS 3.1, and the read and write speeds are: 1800MB/s, 700MB/s.
3. XP Plus adds extreme performance mode, the power wall can reach 90 degrees. In extreme performance mode, in order to improve heat dissipation, XP Plus has made openings on the back, and the openings have been designed with a dust filter to ensure that in extreme performance mode, the heat dissipation effect is maximized and dust is prevented from accumulating.
4. Therefore, the machine’s fan has two cooling modes, both controlled through the top task bar. The default state is 60-degree power wall mode, and the fans are divided into three groups: off, weak, and strong. When switching to the “Extreme Performance” mode, the fan status will be grayed out, and the three groups of “off, weak, strong” are not available. At this time, the fan is forced to the maximum speed to ensure that the CPU turbo frequency is 100% full, and it is not possible to play emulator games. Downgrade again. PS2 and Wii games can run at 2~4 times the rendering resolution at 60 frames, and support the Egg emulator to play NS games.
5. The microSD card supports the exFAT format, so there is no need to worry about the inability to store game ROMs larger than 4GB, and the inconsistency of read and write speeds after integration with the internal storage and the loss of data when inserting and removing the microSD card.
6. Added forced landscape mode. When the previous firmware is in landscape state, if the screen auto-rotation is disabled, it will automatically restore the portrait screen. The modified mode is: when in landscape, disabling auto-rotate will lock landscape; when in portrait, disabling auto-rotate will lock portrait.
